I trained as a doctor and spent about three years in Malaysia’s public hospitals, including as a frontline medical officer through COVID-19. Most of what went wrong on the ward wasn’t a gap in medical knowledge. It was information that didn’t reach the right person in time.
So I moved to public health: an MPH at Universiti Malaya, then two years at NUS, starting the world’s first public healthy longevity medicine clinic with a team of pioneers at NUS and NUHS, and leading the analysis of the HELO survey of 3,034 Singaporeans.
In late 2025 I took a career break to learn the stack myself: Linux and Python first, then cloud architecture and AI. Since April 2026 I’ve been in Google Cloud’s Customer Engineering team, building AI agents and health-data pipelines.
What I want next: to use AI for public-health good, especially in low-resource settings, coming at it as a doctor and a public-health practitioner.
